I as an attorney have a conviction that the vocation of law is a calling from God. With God’s calling comes the responsibility and stewardship of integrating Christian faith and law. As a Christian lawyer, law I recognize the privilege and responsibility of providing legal counseling consistent with scripture. I further believe that my practice of law should be in pursuit of the truth so that my clients will have a clear conscious in all that they do in the California legal system.

We offer the services of Christian Mediation so that clients can resolve issues consistent with 1st Corinthians Chapter 6:1-6 and Matthew 18:15-17. People do have legitimate disagreements and both parties can have very valid reasons for their contentions and claims. The goal of mediation is to facilitate a meeting of the minds resulting in an agreement based on Scriptural principles and the rule of law.

I have been a Christian since 1969. I attended a wonderful Christian College called Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia graduating in 1977 with a BA in Religion. I then attended Bethel Theological Seminary and graduated in 1981 with a Master of Arts in Theological Studies. I graduated law school in 1986 and have been serving the Christian Community in San Diego County for 22 years. A great part of my business is referred from Churches, Pastors and Christian Marriage Counselors. I have been married to the same lovely women who I met in college for 31 years. I have two adult sons. My wife and I are members of the Shadow Mountain Community Church in El Cajon, CA where Dr. David Jeremiah is Senior Pastor.

Issues affecting divorcing parents:

Move Away Issues: Does the other parent want to take the children and move away out of state? Do you want to move out of the area for a job opportunity or family support? How will a move by either parent affect your custody and visitation rights? And who is responsible for the travel costs? These are common issues when one parent desires to move away but still wants to have a thriving relationship with their children.

Issues of Support: As a parent your first responsibility is to your children. If your spouse leaves you with no money or means of paying the living expenses, you have a responsibility to hold the other parent responsible for their obligations to the children. The rent must be paid or the children will be without the comfort of their home.

To the practice of mediation in family law, Jesus Christ comes first. Rev. Martin Luthor King, Jr., Henry Kissinger, President John F. Kennedy, Jr., Gary Snyder and Robert Persig follow. These people dedicated their lives to leading the world or some part of the world with love, compassion, and by teaching quality in every action. My parents lead the family by planting inboard moral compasses in their kids. They instilled a drive to continuously seek knowledge.

In every new case we seek the communication that will lead to preferred settlement. Sometimes spousal problems related to chemical dependency, domestic violence, money, or sex prevent an arms-length talk. If that is the case, this office will close the distance and move the court for orders protecting the standard of living and the status quo.
